MVTA Year-End Message

Bonnie Zipeto | Published on 4/8/2020
Hi to all our friends at Mountain Valley Trails (current and past and future),

Unfortunately, our best season ever has come to a rather abrupt halt. After discussion with board members, we decided to cancel the April meeting due to the coronavirus concerns.

This season has exceeded expectations. Members quickly stepped up to volunteer to host potluck meetings and run events. Attendance at these events was excellent.  The monthly meetings started in October and wrapped up in March.  The snow, a little unpredictable, gave us some excellent powder ski days.  We ran about 15 ski trips in January and February (Thursdays, full moon and weekend), plus two fall work trips. It has been the best season for MTVA in my 20+ year memory with this group.

Thank you for volunteering to make MVTA a success. We have one lone volunteer for next season’s meetings. Bob and Marge Fish will host the October 4 meeting. Please check your calendar and send us an email to volunteer for the next season. Below are possible dates for the potluck meetings. We have usually met on the first Sunday of the month, but in some cases the second Sunday may work out better.  Generally, the meetings in October, November, December and April are evening meetings and the others may be brunches if there is an opportunity to ski.

• November 1
• December 6 (Holiday Yankee Swap meeting)
• January 3 (or 10)
• February 7
• March 7
• April 4

We had several photographers document the trips this year.  Here is the link to see the albums (first 10 albums are from this year):  Photo Albums

Please be careful and stay healthy. See you in the fall at the October meeting. Renewal notices will go out in September.
